B2. Testing

Candidates at both the initial and advanced levels take courses dedicated to assessment. Elementary and Secondary undergraduate candidates (B.S./B.A/B.M.E.) are introduced to assessment issues and test creation in their coursework (EDFN 401 [SA Assessment Instrument]; CURR 303 [Sa Teacher Work Sample] and use these data to impact student achievement in their field placement [Student Teaching: Teacher Work Sample]. Graduate students in both initial (M.A.T.) and advanced (M.Ed.) levels create test items in CURR 401 [SA Assessment Instrument] and CURR 573 [SA Assessment Instrument in Teacher Work Sample] respectively; candidates use data to analyze and impact student achievement as part of their field work (Internship [Teacher Work Sample]; CURR 573 [SA Teacher Work Sample]). In addition, candidates at all levels interpret LEAP 21 test data and apply results to impact student achievement positively (EDFN 401 [SA3 Parent/Principal letter]; EDLE 505 [SA APA Paper].
